September 3, 2009 Dear Parents, This is my 19th year teaching grades K through 3rd. After completing my bachelor’s degree from Atlanta Christian College, I received a master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Oglethorpe University. I decided I wanted to pursue another year of higher education. Specialists’ degrees are offered if a Master’s degree has been completed so I embarked on another journey in education. I completed my six-year degree, Specialist in Education in Early Childhood, from University of Georgia in 1999. I obtained this degree four weeks before my granddaughter was born. It worked out perfectly so that I had the education I desired and then I had time to spend with my new grandchild. I am happily married to my husband, Doug. We have a lovely daughter, Carman. We enjoy seeing Carman, her husband, Benny, and our precious ten year old granddaughter, Laney. Laney is attending school here at Findley Oaks in fifth grade. I love teaching the lower grades and enjoy seeing young children learn to read and write. But, first and foremost, I desire to see young children want to come to school because it is challenging and fun to them. I always strive to create a classroom environment that will accommodate these highest objectives.
